For the second film in the series, I decided to move away from the speed and intensity of Formula 1 and focused on something much quieter.
Instead of asking what it feels like to race, I asked what it felt like before any of it happened.
Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll and Jessica Hawkins reflected on the moments that first made them fall in love with motorsport. The stories weren't really about racing. They were about childhood, ambition and the small moments that quietly shape the rest of your life.
Visually, I wanted the film to feel more like a memory than a documentary. We worked with black and white imagery, textured surfaces and a cinematic aesthetic that felt nostalgic without becoming sentimental.
I always enjoy projects that allow the visuals to step back and let the story breathe. This was one of those. Sometimes the most powerful images are the quietest ones.
Like the first film, this was only possible because of a brilliant team who somehow managed to bring everything together under a very tight schedule.
The Music
Everything was designed to feel timeless. The music was recorded with a live orchestra to give it warmth and a sense of imperfection — so that what you're hearing and seeing feels alive. The film was created in Blender, combining hand painted textures and layered light to try to make each frame feel like a memory in motion.
